Default 2WD to 4WD, Part 1

With hunting season finally over it's time to get this project going before the busy summer season gets here. I'm concentrating on just swapping the front suspension for now, I'll worry about adding the transfer case and chopping the floor later down the road to save time and money.

The radiator($120) is falling apart after only 5 years and I broke off a plastic connecter on a vacuum/fuel something on the driverside fender($85) and ordered a new motor for the windshield washer sprayer.

I'll get the battery tray powder coated and have the inner fenders sprayed with bedliner material on the tire side, not sure if I should go ahead and powder coat the inner fenders engine side while I'm at it. The fenders will get paint on their backsides too.

The firewall needs a good cleaning and some attention, no damage yet but it wouldn't be long before rot would ruin it. There's a few spots that never saw paint from the factory while it was being built that I'll fix now.

If the weather cooperates the engine will be out this week and the real fun can begin. I'll pull the a/c box and find out why the heater hasn't been working, it must be plugged. Cleaning and painting everything when I did the engine swap 5 years ago made a huge difference taking it apart this time, no damage from rust anywhere under the radiator support. A second coat of paint on everything should help keep this Dodge on the road for a few more years.

Dave,

That's a big project. Take a look at a product called POR-15 for painting.
Keep us posted with pics.

Guys it would be nice for you to load the pics to the site instead of PB as people such as myself looking from GOV computers can see the pictures.
