Duster, you really know your Mopars. If I remember those first Barracuda were actually labeled Valiant Barrracudas, weren't they?

For the first year.....the Dusters were as well. The 1970 Duster actualy has Valiant fender badges. In reality they are both Valiants but they had the Barracuda/Duster Option package. The Superbee was a Coronet option package for the first year until it was made into it's own car as well. Also the 'Cuda is and always was a Barracuda option package for the E-bodies. No A-body car was ever called a 'Cuda. They are all Barracudas and that's a good way to get smacked is to refer to an A-body Barracuda as a 'Cuda. It's kinda silly but with all this internal garbage and stuff that Chrysler created with the in-fighting it has spilled into the collector ranks as well. I know I am partial to Plymouth more so than the other brands and it kills me to know they are dead and lousy Dodge wants to build a 'Cuda to profit off the name. Mopar guys are Mopar guys but there are also Plymouth/Dodge factions within the group as well. I try not to be like that but it comes out like in my first post in this thread. I can't help it. Plymouth guys like myself are bitter with what happened and it comesout at times. There was a GREAT history of Plymouth posted on allpar.com a while ago but I can't find it on there anymore. They talked about when Chrysler aquired Plymouth and how Dodge stole from them through the corporate chain and thus killed them off with all the cross branding of vehicles ( 3 different neons for example).

I was going to mention the Neon, but don't really like to talk about them, YUK. i know some were badged Plymouth, then later Dodge. What was the 3rd? Were they badged Chrysler also?

IIRC in the early years one of the first couple there were Chrysler ones but I might be mistaken there. Breeze, Cirius and Stratus is another example of **** poor managment and cross branding. Anyway this is getting off discussion now.

I like those better than the real ones. i think the curves of the '71 redesign along with the nose cone and wing look and blend better than the square style of the '69 and '70 'birds and Chargers.
