Why Cummins is still #1
Hey folks, here's something to laugh at. CLICK HERE to watch DMAX overheat/BBQ trying to keep up with an "inferior Dodge Ram" (author of vid called it that).
This is why Cummins/Ram is still #1 in my book. Enjoy the BBQ!

Hey 1986, could you send my parachute pants forward in time please?

Wow! I can't believe the Duramax had that issue. I traded in my 2007 Silverado with the 5.3L HO V8 and 4.10's for my new 2500 Ram because the Silverado was doing the same exact thing to me as the fella in the vid with the overheating when I went on vacation a couple of months ago. Now I know you can't compare the 5.3L V8 to any diesel but the travel trailer I have weighs about 6,000 lbs fully loaded. The Silverado was supposed to tow 8,800 lbs and was dying with my travel trailer which weighed 2,800 lbs less than what the truck was supposed to pull. We were doing 45mph on some interstates when the speed limit was 75, actually we never could keep it above 65mph cuz it was way too loud. On roads with a 5% or greater grade we were at 30mph in 2nd and with the Engine Coolant Hot alarm.
I can't imagine how ****ed off I would be if I bought a Duramax and this happened to me. I totally understand the frustrations that guy had. We got back into town on a Tuesday, by the following Monday I had my new Dodge in the garage. I got a great deal on my Ram, but got screwed on the Chebby. Guess it will all pay off later cuz there is nothing that I will ever own that my Cummins can't pull.
Thanks for the post! Makes me feel really happy to be driving a Cummins.

I had forgotten about parachute pants, and the annoying donkeys that wore them. Thanks for the reminders, why I drive a Dodge, and never wore parachute pants.

Re: Why Cummins is still #1
Thanks, eloy, for tellin' about your problems with your Chevy, I really like the 08 Silverado Crews, and was actually thinking about getting one(I don't use the dually for hauling) and I am getting a small TT soon. I thought the Chevy would pull the TT fine since I was gonna get a small one. Glad you spoke up, probably saved me some headache. Now I will keep the dually, maybe I can talk the wife into a bigger 5er
