Good Evening DieselRam!!
79 this morning in Snyder tx., 102 this afternoon in Carlsbad nm.

Ralph and the team said Thanks Guys!

Sundancer completed 170 miles today by 5pm. We were the ONLY car Driven into the halfway checkpoint. Most were on a trailer by then. We started today 60 miles ahead of the next closest competitor. Today, not sure how many, but we're waaay ahead, for sure!
The competition, as Ray would say, "We Smoked 'Em"!!!
I think I've talked myself into one more day. Only 100mi to complete tomorrow.
I'm 1013 mi from home now, what's 100 more?

Cold and soggy week turned into a warm and sunny weekend. Then Monday it starts all over again.
Back out to the house and see what other disasters I'll find. Try to get the stove out and the gas line re plumbed before the new stove gets here. Swap doors on the new cabinets so I will only have 1 to replace instead of 2. Figure out why a wall outlet stopped working. And install the dryer vent. Lets see how much of it I'll get done this weekend.

Good Morning DieselRam..
Clunk, thanks for the link!!
There's info and a live tracker at
solarcarchallenge.org

The finish is Monday in Palmdale, Ca, but the longest miles are in the first 2 days.
They are currently trailering from El Paso to todays starting point about 100 miles away...and it's like 7am there. They been on the road over an hour.
Sundancer did complete the full 102 miles for yesterday in 3:19, including 2 rest stops and 40 miles of required trailering.
The next closest competitor completed it in about 6 hrs.

I, unfortunately, am back on duty today. We had a BLAST, and got a team hug when us old folks had to turn east.
That evil person I try not to mention is meeting up with them in Phoenix tomorrow morning and I don't care to share the same mile of road with...it...for 3 days.
But it's all good, we got the title of coolest parent support team and stood by the highway waving posters and cheering during the last day.

Back in the 4-H south.
Woke to thunder and a few sprinkles. 72, worse than the 84 in NM, and low 90's with a feels like of 105 according to the weather man, but I've felt the 105 and it's doesn't compare.
It's really true, the 100+ dry heat of the west isn't nearly as bad as the steamy sauna of the southeast.

Fog ruined our sunshine most of yesterday. Nice and clear today, so far. Back out to the house.
