That would be true except when it first happened after the total truck body/frame rebuild it still had the factory thermostat in and I replaced it with an aftermarket one and no change then the mechanic changed it (also aftermarket) and still had a problem. My guess would be with all that the clutch fan was sporadically acting up on it's way to totally being frozen from sitting outside under a tarp until the drive train was reinstalled.

On a side note the Cummins thermostat was the same price as the aftermarket ($45) so for piece of mind there really is no good reason for anyone to use an aftermarket thermostat.
