Default Flushing vs Draining Radiator

I plan on draining and refilling rad. with Chevron Delo ELC
Is draining the same as flushing ?
If not how does one flush?
Thanks, Gary

Flushing is is exactly what it sounds like. You run the engine while running clean water through it to "flush" out the old crap. Everybody has their own way of doing it, but you have to remove the thermostat while you do it.

I flush when I can, drain and refill when I can't (but I also leave the seat up!)

Nearly all auto parts stores sell a flush kit that has a T fitting with garden hose threads on one leg that goes into the heater hose that let's you flush the system. Drain the coolant and refill with water and the cleaner included with the kit, warm it up, flush with the garden hose, drain and refill with 50/50 antifreeze and distilled water and go flying.

Edit - I don't cut the heater hose like the instructions say - I buy a small piece of heater hose and attach the T to that and to the firewall, then the original hose to the T. That way I can remove it when I'm done, without messing up the hose.

Is there a way to drain block?
Or is it just the rad drain on bottom pass side of rad?

Just have to drain it from the radiator. Many years back, they used to put a petcock on the bottom of the il cooler housings, but not anymore.
