Default Oil/filter percentage

Any input as to oil/filter change percentages. A friend with a '15 is asking for ideas.....use it all or do the maintenance early. What is everybody doing.

Well you can guess my recommendation, do it early. I would recommend Oil Bypass on all newer 6.7 due to how sooty the oil gets with a high quality synthetic oil. Or at least the EAO80 high efficiency oil filter.

A Oil Bypass System provides the best possible filtration against wear and oil degradation. Works in conjunction with the engines full flow oil filter, the AMSOIL Ea bypass filter operates by filtering oil on a partial flow basis. The system traps extremely small wear causing contaminants that the OEM fullflow filters cant remove.

You can see more info and video on the AMSOIL website under bypass systems.

With the bypass system on my 2002 I just changed my filters when needed, 5 years and 70,000 miles on oil without changing and oil analysis was still suitable for continued use when I traded for my 2007.

The average OEM oil filters only filter dirt particals to around 20 to 40 microns ( Nominal ) The bypass filters will filter to 2 micron and under.

How’s it hook up? Where’s the in and out lines come from? A base plate or something under factory oil filter?
I have a 2016 but wife wants Dually. Will these kits work on a 2016 and a 2019?
