Default Harmonic Damper

Going to change out the damper hopefully tomorrow. As far as I know it's the original part. 345,000 miles on it. Hopefully cures some vibrations I've been feeling in the floorboard even with front driveshaft out. No play in my track-bar or any other suspension parts. New axle ujoints(Spicer) 6 months ago along with hub bearing and ball joints. Everything torqued to specs. No engine parts contacting body or frame.

Got it installed in between rain showers. I'll drive it a few days and report back. My fingers are crossed! Not a hard job. Had to buy a barring tool which I've needed for 12 years now.

Damper smoothed out the engine quite a bit, although original damper appeared to still be intact. ??
Vibrations still in floorboard.
Pulled both rear driveshafts and installed 3 u-joints and a new carrier bearing. On inspection I could find no play or tight spots in any of the u-joints- pulled them out anyway. Every one was full of grease. And every one was brinneled. ?? Carrier also seemed fine. WTH, I have a brand new Spicer carrier and 3 Spicer u-joints in there now. Neapco and Duralast suck evidently. I lubed the old ones religiously. Neepcos were installed by a pro driveshaft shop.
Anyway, it's still on jackstands waiting for me to test drive it.
Fingers still crossed!

While I was lubing the u-joints and before I test drove I jacked up front and lubed everything in the suspension and checked for play in hub bearings, axle u-joints(lubed them), and balljoints. Everything is tight! Spinning wheels and hubs both seem the same. Brakes not dragging. Yay! Take for test drive. Vibration is quite a bit worse than before I replaced u-joints. Pull back in driveway. Kids run out of house wanting to know what the metal screeching sound was! Tensioner pulley SHOT! Put new one on. Checked TQ on harmonic balancer (OK). Test drive - still vibrating like hell. Feels like driveshaft still. Speed related for sure. Doesn't matter - under load or coasting in neutral.
That's when I notice it pulling to the right more than normal, and if I just hit brakes enough to slow down it doesn't pull! Seems to be hub bearing?
Seems like when I removed the load off of the tensioner pulley it decided to bite the dust!
Also seems like when I unloaded the hub bearing it decided to take a dive!
I'm about ot pull my hair out!
Anybody ever had a hub bearing vibrate that bad? I've changed them before because of looseness, but they never vibrated like that.

U joint......needle bearing fell over putting the drive line off center. Been there done that. Were any of them particularly hard to get the clips in?

I pulled each new ujoint out to check. Nothing wrong with any of them. Just in case, I replaced them with new spicers again. They are some of the most difficult u-joints to change I've ever done. Spindle u-joints even worse.
You can sure tell if you've dropped a needle. I always put grease in cups. They never have enough. New hub bearing on it's way. Wish I could afford a free-spin kit.
