Went out to check it and it was not working again. There is a shop in the city that will overhaul mine for less than an exchange. Also they won't get my Bosch in exchange for a China.

That's what I'm going to do, there's a local rebuilder here too.

I think I may have found my elusive charging problem. I have a battery isolator for the trailer wiring. I think it may have finally hard failed. I bypassed it and everything seem to be working fine for now. I need to find a replacement.

Well, the charging system is working fine with e isolator bypassed. But, the VSS is acting up and now the injection pump is about dead. Stopped in at Sears and almost couldn't get it started again. Good thing I'm getting a tax refund.

How many miles on that VE? Do you think the fuel filter is ok?

185,0000 miles. It has been acting up now for over a year, but I've been putting it off because of "other priorities". Classic symptoms, the hotter it gets the less it will idle. Add to that other electrical issues I've been having. Now that it has become unreliable to drive, it either gets fixed or sold. Unfortunately, these "other priorities" are eating up all my time and money. There is a Bosch service shop in Anchorage that says he can overhaul it for about $800, but I don't trust his work or honesty. I can order one in, but the core charge and freight are really going to hurt. Then I will have to pay someone to do the work. No time or place to do it myself. Besides, I can have someone else suffer putting in the low pressure high volume piston pump while they are at it. Right now I'm looking at Shied's 230hp pump only because they only want a $300 core vs up to $1500 from other places offering stock pumps.

Seems awful sudden...hasn't it been running good until just lately?
Do the bolts or line fittings have shiny corners from recent activity?
