Made it through the last hurdle yesterday with the CompU, I hope. After the speed sensor harness, found out the TPS harness was wired backwards for the Cummins application. After fixing that I was able to complete the initial calibration. Now it's drive and tune. Also found out my transfer case linkage is messed up. Can't get into 4 low. So I gotta fix that.

The wieners are ready for action, I also found a midget... I mean little person. he likes to take things apart and if there's any laser beams he can go under them. He has some catnip and frozen mice, to distract the cat.

Made a little progress on the 92 yesterday. Working on the setting in the CompU, this is not going to be easy. With the factory setting they say should work didn't. No OD and no LU. Finally got both to come one, but not even close to the right parameters. Their manual could use some work, not complete or very clear on some things. Items in the settings menu aren't mentioned in the manual. Other reference settings can't be calibrated. It was nice to see the boost gauge go past 30. Was only able to top 22 before.

Okay, finally. Got the Compushift dialed in close enough to work good enough to be able to put it back on the road. Still needs more tuning, but good enough for now.

When it rains, it pours. Just got it up and running again and something shorted out this morning. You can smell it in the cab and the volt meter is flat lined. Of course the 01 is down too with a dead lift pump.

Think I fixed it, I think. My little circuit board to mimic the OD button seems to be the culprit. I unplugged it and all seems to be serene. One of these days when it warms up and my fingers aren't turning purple I'm going to tear the dash apart again and look over the wiring harness.

Didn't fix it. My circuit board turned out to be a symptom, not the cause. I still haven't nailed that down yet. When I turn the key on, all the lights self test, but no grid heaters. When I start the engine, the alternator goes to high voltage and no tack. After half a minute or so the grid heaters start cycling, the tack come up, and the alternator returns to normal operation. To start fixing the situation I replaced the crank sensor (what a pain) and eliminated the PCM from the auto shutdown relay. Bypassing the PCM should at least stop the OV problem. It will be a wait and see if the rest of the functions return to normal.
