Drug it over to my neighbor's shop yesterday. He won't be able to get to it for a while. At least he didn't laugh at me when I told him the story.

He finally got to it this week. Low to no governor pressure. Next week the transmission comes out for a tear down.

He tor it down Thursday. The governor's bore was badly pitted causing a lot of fluid to leak past the seals. There is a repair sleeve making it an easy fix. There was also a missing snap ring that didn't help matters. Otherwise he said everything else looked good. While he has it apart I'm going to have him upgrade the usual problematic parts and put in the shift kit.

Wow, thats wierd, I just bought a bunch of parts from a guy up there too, he's parting out a truck with no tranny, I got the entire interior. Good deals up there in Alaska, which reminds me of a joke. What do you call an Eskimo Peeping Tom ?

Ok, I have a problem, every time I make my rounds plowing and travelling to my accounts, about 250 miles round trip, im down a gallon or so of coolant. I cannot see any visual leakage around the water pump, hoses etc, I cannot smell coolant, there are no bubbles in my radiator when the engines running, there is no oil in the coolant, or coolant in the oil, overflow tank is to the top, way past the full line. I don't understand it. I replaced the rad cap yesterday, but seems like too cheap of a fix. Any ideas anyone ? Trucks not blowing white smoke or anything, runs strong and the same as it always has. Im baffled.

Check your tranny fluid? It has to go somewhere. Unfortunately plowing isn't the best case scenario for trying to find a leak. Everything is soaked already and the water and snow can mask the smell. If it is a tiny pin hole squirt, you may never find it until the truck sits for several days.
