Default Poo

Have to stay home and defend my truck from the vultures The lift pump finally piddled its last drop this morning. Made it just to the top of the hill before he cut out. Poked it with the curtain rod ( the lift pump) again to get him going and turned around and went home. Got all the parts to do the piston pump just don't want to freeze the digits doing it.

Well, something is going on on the wrong side.
Last Wednesday I drove the 91 to work and back without a hiccup. That was after I got it running again from the last fail. Thursday morning I got about 3 miles down the road (running normal all the way) and it shuts down like I turned the key off. Saturday I did the normal checks:
Lift pump pumping fuel to and through the filter.
No air at the bleeder.
Power to the fuel shutoff solenoid.
NO fuel at the injectors
Krapo
Remove the FSS and the plunger was stuck to the seat. Had to use vise grips and a small pry bar to get it out.
Got the new FSS in, bled the works and it runs. Run it up and down the street and seemed to be fine. Just really nervous about going further. These towing bills are adding up
My 92 isn't exactly normal either, but it's not shutting down. It starts hard, idles rough and smoke like a coal burner until it warms up, then all it well.
Happened after same fuel used in both rigs.

I've thought about it, but the $ part of it worries me. Seem easy enough to do, just a bit to exchange. I use my truck for work and towing so EGT is always my first worry. My current set up runs fairly cool but more power is always desired. The P pump is still mechanical, so that's a plus.
