Default 01 24 Valve VP44 Question

I have a friend who I am helping replace his engine. His truck is an 01, 24 Valve with the NV5600 transmission. He bought a replacement engine from an 01 24 Valve with the Automatic Transmission. Are the VP-44 Injection pumps the same or, is there a difference. There is a very big difference in mileage on the pumps, that's why I am asking.

Some years the manuals are more hp than the autos. Also if it's the H.O. (high output) version the pumps won't interchange. Something about different ecm programming. The H.O. pump runs weak on a standard output engine.

Thank you for the response. For 01, the Auto pump supported 205HP and the Manual pump supported 245HP. We switched the pumps over. Very easy switch. The thing to be careful with is the keyway, it was easy to see how people loose them or don't install them properly.

I hand turned the engine with the alternator to get the pump keyway slot at 12 o'clock before removing the injector pump. I like the idea of super-glueing the woodruff key to the injector pump shaft slot.
