Watching craigslist and the like for "old school" SUVs. Either over priced or rusted out what few appear up here. Vans scare me, don't like the idea of being the first thing hit in a wreck. Maybe something in the crossover line up.

2000 Legacy L. I had a 2000 Outback. Same car, more trunk space. I've been looking at Foresters for a long time, but they don't have any better access. Maybe the newer ones do, I'll have to check.

The newer outback is bigger than the forester (They changed models around some, its really quite confusing) I'd look around for a 2010/11 outback. Stay away from the 4 cylinders in the 2012-2015 model year range, they had oil consumption issues. Our 2012 forester used a quart every thousand miles. The 16 crosstrek has been great.

Got into my 2nd gen yesterday to move it. It was much easier to get in and out of than the 1st gen. Got me to thinking. Anyone have a Durango to compare?

I just got in a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I have 5" clearance from my knees to the dash.
It's pretty easy to get in and out of.
I'm 5'10", 256lbs.

I had an 88 Dakota. Had to crawl through and back into the driver seat. For me it was very cramped.
At 6' and 300 lbs, it's hard to find anything that fits. As it is, I can't bend my knee more than 70°. And once I'm in the seat I need to be able to straighten my leg back out or I'm in a lot of discomfort.
