Mourning Doves make a hooting noise when their intended one is nearby.

Found my hooter. A panel on my meter box would lift when the wind would hit it a the right angle. Secured it and now it just rattles. Going to put some weather stripping on it to stop the rattle. The high winds have shifted and is now coming from the north. Should be in the teens by sun up. Didn't get to the Subaru, had to go buy another garbage can, stinkin winds.

Happy Oct 16 folks. Bright sunshine and 53F this morning in Bloomington IN. Back in another life I drove a dump truck...summer job while I was in college. It was one of those DM model Mack tri-axles with the offset cab. Occasionally hauled asphalt blacktop. May sound crazy, but I always loved the smell of hot blacktop. I think it was because I associated it with the excitement of a freshly paved road or drive. They always look so new and nice! Guess I'm just weird...but that job (truck driving) is what got diesel flowing through my veins and is why I ordered a Cummins Ram truck with a manual transmission. Every time I fire up the ole Ram it sorta takes me back to those care-free younger days when I had very little responsibility for anything but myself. Now don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with life now as a husband, dad, in-law-dad, and papaw, but those younger days were fun too! There's just something really cool about the sound that an in-line 6 turbo diesel engine makes when you slowly depress the go-pedal while in overdrive!

The wind shifted directions and has calmed down a little, a little warmer too. Still below freezing though. Spent the day looking for lost stuff. There where a lot of those how did it get packed in here and that's where that went moments.
