Default Arrrrgh! dirty dirty transmission fluid

OK Brothers
Got the mechanic to look at the trasmission fluid today, only half full , pasty and it had little pieces of metal in it. The truck shifts fine right now, and we put new fluid in it. Remember, this started while towing and downshifting from 5th to 4th gear and it got stuck in neutral. Have not dared to tow with it since. Where to go from now.....
thanks for all your wisdom
by the way, po ha ha is female, do ya really think a guy would call himself such a name?

The only thing I would address at this point would be the 5th gear nut . They have been known to back off and break the 5th gear.

Another thing is critical is using the correct fluid as well.

Really at this point it's a crap shoot being that it was ran half full and probably not serviced being that the fluid was mud.

Pohaha,
I'd get it flushed out clean and check with Herb on here for the synthetic tranny fluid.
And cross my fingers.
Welcome ! An extra lady or more might keep us from scratching and grunting so much around here.

Yes, I think nigel called himself that for years.
Not having one of them new fangeled truck, what transmission do you have, and how big are the pieces?

Welcome to DR, we would love to see your truck.
Like they say, the way to a mans heart is with pictures of the truck
