Default new truck advice

I am looking to get a new/used truck. It will be set up as a service truck with a utility body. I drive between 25k-30k miles per year. We do mostly municipal type work and many areas are now requiring vehicles on the job be emissions compliant, 2007 or newer. Anything older would have to be retrofitted for emissions. I just looked at a new gasser and the recommended
fuel is premium, $2.75/ gal diesel is $2.15 around here. Any recommendations on model years
with the 6.7? I sorely miss my 12 valve.
Thanks for your help.

The 07 to 12 are a bit of maintenance hogs. If you plan on idling these trucks don't you will just kill them. They really need to be worked hard. 13 and newer are a bit easier but not much. The EGR system and DPF are your single biggest expense.

The ECO Diesel is a completely different animal. While it still needs to be worked, looking at the over all design the truck feels like a TDI VW built for the sole purpose of town driving.

With any of these trucks drive them like you stole them. With time the mileage will improve and I stress this. Use good filters and follow the service intervals. Failure to do so will empty your wallet.

Nice...very nice. the first thing I added to my '12 was a Quick Grille release from geno's garage.

Than I put screen over all the radiators.
