Default looking at a truck

Found a '14 3500 Limited that is a pretty good deal price wise. One snag as it always is...Has a lemon report on the autocheck. Says the original owner had the dealership buy the truck back when it was fairly new, with steering issues. report says the steering wheel would lock up, but the dealer could not replicate the issue, so they bought the truck back. Never heard of anything like this. and for a '14 with only 6000 miles, it may be a deal breaker. Anybody ever heard of this with this year model truck?

I wonder when the lock up occurred? If while in motion I would think there would be some "body damage" at some point..??.. Could it be when the truck was in park with the wheel turned making it difficult to get it free? Just wondering...

Talked to the dealer again this afternoon to try to gather a little more info. Got a printout emailed that shows the recalls and the repairs to this particular truck. TPS sensor, reprogramming of the radio....according to the document, the steering locks up and jerks to the left. Dealer could not replicate the problem. There was some type of rewire of the steering wheel/column done a year ago. Hoping to talk with a tech from the dealership Monday. I agree, normally I would not be interested, but being a California truck, possibly somebody didn't want the payment??? Guess that could happen anywhere.

There was a recall on the steering column wiring, had it done to mine. I can't remember what the basis for the recall was though.

Don't know exactly what you're looking for, but I'm considering selling my 2015 2500

My critical thinking kicking in here.....
If it "locks up" how can it "jerk to the left"?
Sounds like a contradiction there...
