Default APPS puzzle

My tranny has had shifting issues for a while.
I installed the mystery switch and have been relying on it pretty heavily.

It started back in June with double downshifts, wouldn't stay shifted out & had trouble maintaining even 50mph with the 4.10's.

I stopped at an auto parts store and changed the apps on the road. Shifted pretty good for the next 200 miles home, but then gradually got worse.
Now it wont hardly shift out to OD unless I back waay off the throttle...empty or loaded doesn't seem to matter.

Plugged the scanner in a couple weeks ago while driving. Driving along the TPS % would go from 30% to 100% with just a little movement and nowhere near full throttle. IT would even stay at 100% while moving the throttle up and down. Pulled the tps today and checked signal voltage thru the sensor, seems smooth, no noticeable jumps and can't get it to max out at 5.11 volts unless at full turn.
Checked the wires in the immediate vicinity, pulled out of the loom and taped up separately. No cuts, nicks or bare spots that I can see.

I do get codes for tps "A" circuit input voltage high and low...yes both.
The "A" terminal on the plug is the black/ground wire...

The new tps is lifetime warrantied and called the local store & they're getting me a new one, but if it is smooth and linear I'm not sure that will fix my problem.

Any suggestions??

New tps & she shifts up to OD with no crazy downshifts, but will not lockup without clicking the switch & drops back out soon as I turn it off.

You've never been one for wasting words.

So you think the problem is Still caused by the apps...?
Well, if they would refund the $150 I paid for this "cheap" one I'd be about there, or the MaxTorq apps.
It was almost emergency status to change it that day though.

Herkybird, I hear ya...

Plugged in the scanner while driving yesterday and the new apps is only reading 1-2% below half pedal. If I mash it pretty good it will get up in the 30% range.
WTH ?!?
2 different apps & 2 opposite problems...
I would really suspect its in the wiring somewhere if the readings weren't opposite.
Guess I need to trace all wires to termination, when the rain stops....middle of next week.
