I've read AC voltage in the system makes the trans act kooky.
Check your charging system for excess AC voltage.
You'll need a volt-ohm meter that will read AC millivolts.....the knob on the meter will point to 2 volts AC on mine. Opinions on the allowable stray voltage varies from one person to another.
Mine varies from .019 to .031 volts AC. If I see .035, I'll take it to the local generator-starter shop and let them install another rectifier bridge.

Didn't change any of the electrical components? WTF

Always always change them. The Gov sensor solenoid are a high failure items.

He should have done it while it's in the shop. Need to take it back and make him do it.

Wiggled wires and cleaned battery cables and it didn't miss a beat from Monday to Thursday....

Friday....I was ready to shoot it!!

The last 50 miles home it was in 3rd as much as anything. I stopped and wiggled each plug, one at a time to see which one stopped it, including the tps and the 8 pin on the tranny, none did.
Stopped and wiggled and tightened battery cables again, no luck.
Swapped trans solenoid in relay center with another one...nothing.
Maybe it was just coincidence.
Guess it's time for that " master relay service kit"...

P0743 - torque converter clutch solenoid circuit electrical
Would that be a bad solenoid or bad signal...or could be either...?

P0123 - throttle position sensor A circuit high input
That would be the 5 volt reference signal...right?
Or just a bad apps?

4.65 on the orange, 5.11 on brown or purple which ever it is.

I'm gonna ask again.

Why are you farting with the trans. You had it rebuilt correct and installed by them. Therefor it is their problem.

I dont think the apps is part of a tranny build.

Stopped in jackson & changed it.
Was better for a while now having fits again.

Still 2 codes for the apps... A circuit low voltage AND A circuit high voltage.
Driving with scanner plugged in, cleared them & they came right back.

Still 150 mi from home...

Ok...sleep, coffee, review.
Voltage THRU the apps!
I checked to ground yesterday...
Red & black wire ranges from 1.4v to 4.59v

I cleared the codes 3 times last night & they came back immediately.

After changing the apps it was much better...not 100%...but gradually got worse.
For a while I could run up to 60 if I was really light on the throttle....but the last 25 mi it was all crazy again.

Looked over the wiring harness cayse I have had mice chew on stuff. Didnt pull them all out of the wrap but cant see any damage anywhere...

Now what...?

Oh...the scsnner shows engine temp at a constant -40...yes...negative 40.
Does a 96 ecm monitor engine temp??

Dropping it off thursday with the tranny guy on my way to georgia.
Got my lockup switch to work.
Been relying on that pretty heavily.
At least were rolling...
