I have'nt been to the Island since 1985, I want to take the Wife to Long Beach this summer as I promised her since we got married (1983). Will probably Motel it, instead of taking the truck n trailer.

Yup! Good idea. We won't take the trailer off the island for anything less than three weeks.
For your vehicle it is $49.25, $14.85 per passenger and for a trailer they charge $5.60 per foot.
So for my wife and I to go off the island it costs $246.95 each way plus fuel.

Oh heckie darn, that didn't last long. My spare used TPS crapped out, had to put the old one back on for now. Kinda weird what it was doing. It would drop out of OD when I would let up on the throttle. Got so bad so quick I couldn't hold 55 without it dropping out.

Do the potientiometer , less than $5.00. Same as a volume knob from Radio Shack .

You can set it for a certain resistance and it'll behave on a 1st Gen?

yup, adjustable o/d shifting from the cab, only thing is , you have to drop it out of O/D when you want to pass or climbing a steep hill. Did mine a couple of months ago, I love it.

If I can't fix it, I'm going to do the gaser TPS conversion. Need to keep it simple for the wife to drive it.

Did some PM, repairs, and upgrades on the 92 this weekend. Oil and filters change. Tinkered with the auto pilot and I think I found and fixed the problem, just need a post maintenance check drive. Upgraded the stereo with a new and improved version. The old and inferior one will upgrade the the one in the wife's car. I took the TPS apart and cleaned and lubed it. Works as advertised now.

The cover is "potted" on. I used a 90° hook and carefully scrapped away the potting out of the grove it filled in. Once you get enough scrapped away, you can pop it off. Not much to it, a drum with brushes riding in a cylinder with a carbon resistor layer held to one end by a clock spring. I cleaned it up, bent the brushes out for a little more tension and lubed it with some lithium (white) grease and put it back together with a rubberized sealer, just in case I have to take it apart again.
