Seems to depend on what state you live in, at least here in AK where our only choices seem to be United Healthcare or Humana. Neither has a good track record. My part D is through Humana and paid for by the state. Medicare A and B are also covered by the state so no deduction from my social security. So far, I haven't seen a need for a supplemental plan.

My supplement is Cigna ,a group plan through the waterworks where I get my pension through. It's good but pricey. The retirees association recommend Humana. My retired fireman neighbor is warey of the low price of Humana, "ya get what you pay for", I'm with him.
