Exclamation Wanted: getrag or NV4500

I have a 93 D350 5.9L 2wd. my tranny is shot has been ran with out oil. I want a getrag or a NV4500 to swap, must be manual.
I will strongly consider one or the other. will travel in the Ohio area to get one. I wouldn't even bother with fixing it if it wasn't my grandpas truck that he left to me in his last will and testament.

Manual conversions are in high demand. It is almost impossible anymore to find one "cheep". Plan on spending $2 grand. Have you tried www.car-parts.com ?

I looked into replacing my getrag with a NV4500..There's more to it than a bell housing and rear tranny yoke. It was a little more than I wanted to do in my driveway, so to have everything done was getting upwards to $5000

This is what is driving the cost of these transmissions up. When I had to do my 91.5 last summer I looked at replacing vs rebuilding. A used high mileage Getrag was going for $1800! Overhauled Getrags and NV4500 were going for $2200 to$2800, and more. I had mine rebuilt and still cost me $2200, parts being the biggest chunk.

Well maybe^^^^^

What I see is the ability to get certain parts such as 3rd gear and main shafts.
