Sunny 30F today. Hauled rock and mud today. Did it yesterday too. Will probably will haul the same tomorrow.
Had an interesting thing. The fan clutch on the KW/C13 has been sticking engaged after the engine warms up. That poor little engine has a hard enough time pulling hills loaded and running the cooling fan steals even more power.
Air pressure disengages the fan.
I disconnected the air line going to the fan clutch, poured in about 3 tablespoons of Prestone power steering fluid w/seal conditioner in the air line then put the air line back on quick and tested.....it's fixed. The fan engages as needed and disengages normally.
There's something for yer bag of tricks.

Good Morning DieselRam...
Cloudy and 28, near 50 later. Various rain chances over the next 2 days. Probably get wet at some point before Saturday night.
Picked up sheds, and picked up some more. Just getting dry enough in most places, though my 'mule' sunk in one yard yesterday... Picked a different route coming out.

Passed on the bigger truck.
Wasn't bad, just couldn't see leaving my dually for it...comfort, maneuverability, familiarity. The 6.7 pulls em alright. Bigger ones like 12x40 are just a little challenging, but if it's all easy it gets boring.

It does have an engine oil leak somewhere (the M11). Trying to help the guy out. The right/passengers side from the front cover back is all nasty, left side completely dry, oil pan all greasy too.
It's not slinging it on the hood. Wondered if you BIG truck pros knew of a common problem there...
He said he did tighten the bolts on the front cover... I sprayed it down with brake cleaner and ran it for 30 minutes at high idle but didn't see any fresh oil.

Good trick for the fan clutch Clunk.
Heard one for bulldozers yesterday...
Steering clutches stuck??
Fill em with dish soap and work it.

New LED bulbs for the climate control arrived. Probably tackle that tomorrow.

My 5.9 oil filter mount/oil cooler had some loose bolts that oiled down the passenger side of the engine.....found it at night with a bright flashlight.

Good morning DR, dusting of snow this morning, 33* now and mid 40's later. Old friend here in town gave up on his RAM 2500 diesel, traded for a 1500 RAM, He said just wasn't using it. I know he will miss it. Gave me some additives, gonna check them out today.

Good Morning DieselRam...

Snow..?!?
Most years there's a snow or ice storm sometime first half of January.
Looks like we might miss it this year, or it's late.
Dark, dry, and 47 this morning... .
Rain still coming, be here by lunch.
Ralph will be here by lunch. Probably a movie watchin day.
Got some venison laid out for pepper steak.
If the rain moves on likely look for mister wall hanger one more weekend.
Season goes till the 31st, but he won't be back for 3 weeks.

Cloudy near 50F today.
Hauled 3 loads 3/4" stone until the quarry closed at 12 noon then went to the race shop to work on the SS/D heads. Finally home to rest.

Warm and sunny today, haven't had any snow yet this year except on the mountains. Im wanting to try the new truck, see how she tows and plows. Were experiencing El Nino up here, lotsa rain and warm weather. Oh well, its nice to have a winter off.
