Hx super 9 vs. 62/68/.70 vs. 62/65/14
Looking for an upgraded turbo. Something that spools quick for towing but will also make decent hp (around 5-600hp). I was leaning towards the 62/68 and then stumbled upon the super 9 but havent found much on the super 9s.
Power driven diesel claims the super 9 67mm variant spools quicker than the 62/68 and can support 800hp, the 62mm variant supports 700hp and the 60mm supports 550.
Egts are definitely important, i have 6x11 injectors, power driven diesel 025 dvs(supposed to be between 181 and 191) in a 215 pump. Steed speed manifold.
Anyone have any input on either of these 3?
Thanks in advance

Ive been researching the heck out of the super 9 and it seems like its just a he351 made to fit a 67mm exhaust turbine and either a 60,62 or 67mm intake turbine. Exhaust housing is a 9cm i believe. The places selling it say the 67/67/9 spools quicker than the 62/68/.70 and supports 800hp up to 4kish rpm.

If the mystery turbo is any thing like the Tater Built 67 you won’t like it all. The tater is a 67/67 with a 9 cm housing and yes it will light a little faster than the 12. But for us here at altitude egts are through the roof with this turbo. The 62/68 should clean up 150hp injectors well. However you have a 6.7 which pumps more air than the 5.9 so even a 66/73/14 will light well on that motor.

I currently have a 62/74.91 that will not light without alot of smoke. Terrible towing. Also the engine is a 5.9 crank in a decked 6.7 block. So not too much different from a 5.9

Ok a 6.4 still as a stroker it pumps a lot of air. 91 housings are pigs. Drop to an 83 housing and it will light. Your tire size is not doing you any favors either.

Yea i get the tires are big, but they look too good to change lol. I dont think they make the 83 for the 74 turbine, only for the 68. I was thinkin of just ordering the 62/68/.70 gated. Would the 70 cause egt issues you think?

I’d do a 14cm 80 housing.
