Gee, I guess I made a mistake buying a six speed manual on my '06. I spin what...2400 pulling my horse trailer at 70mph...

I've never had any issues with slowing down on hill, but then I'm pulling maybe 12,000 pounds and spinning higher RPMs.

I can't imagine what the new trucks must be like but I won't dig deep enough to buy one. Just can't stand the thought of having a payment and have better uses for the cash. Why can't Dodge produce a capable truck that is livable (cupholders and door pockets, ya know...), for $40,000?

The tach on my truck (06) is very inaccurate......3.73 was the standard axle ratio to the best of my know ledge and some came with a smaller tire option on the 2500....lol, I idle at 350 rpm

My tach is steady and never twitches. 48RE and 354 gears. Idles at 600 rpm and turns 1200rpm at 70mph. I have always thought it was way off, but I may be wrong.

1200 at 70??
Never seen anything like that less that 12 liters & 18 wheels!!
Not even the 6.7 with 2 OD's & 3:73's
It's 17-1800 at 70.
I hear there is a 3:42 available in the newer trucks. Not sure where that puts ya.

And that was the normal engine temp until I put in a Cummins t-stat. Brought it up to about 180.
