Default Clutch issue

A friend of mine has an 06 G56 with stock clutch (he thinks anyway). He has recently had a problem when driving where depressing the clutch pedal is very difficult and the clutch will not disengage when this happens. He said that when he turns off his Smarty Jr. the problem immediately goes away. When I tilted my head sideways as he told me this he chuckled and said,"Yes, I know there is no direct connection between the Smarty and anything to do with the clutch hydraulics....but this is exactly what happens! Smarty on = clutch won't disenage sometimes.....Smarty off = no problem with clutch action..ever!!!
Any ideas what might be happening when he turns on that box???

Default Clutch issue

I had similar problem a couple of times after clutch slipped on hard pulls. About a month ago i put in south bend sdd3250 clutch . No longer have any slipping! I think the pressure plate got so hot it locks up. Original clutches were only rated for 600 ft lbs, when u crank up smarty it just smokes the clutch.

My dual-mass would occasionally stiffen up the same way... Rather unnerving in Los Angeles traffic. Switched to a Con-OFE until its center hub tore out. Installing shop sold lots of SB but mine was the first DM conversion the incompetent schmuck had done... Ignoramus didn't read the instructions through. So I resolved to install a Valair DD myself... And have been happy with it.
