Default Cummins NEWB

Hello!

I am a recent cummins convert. I sold my 1993 F250 IDI turbo, which was pretty hard to do considering the amount of work I put into that truck (it was NA when I got it). I picked up an 04.5 4x4, auto, crewcab, long bed truck during thanksgiving weekend and am still loving the truck.

I mostly tow a snowmobile trailer during the winter, and my rockcrawler in the summer (can't wait to tow with it this summer), which shouldn't work the truck too hard. However I do have an old T-340 crawler I am restoring, which weighs in about 9klbs, so probably 12ish on the trailer. Still shouldn't be a big deal, except some of the Colorado hills will make it work.

Anyway, I signed up to ask some questions about my transmission, but I'm sure there will be more later!

Thanks
PZ

I live in Thornton. I have an '09 M8 with a race gas boondocker turbo. I am thinking about selling my wife's sled and building a snow bike out of a WR450. My friends are all converting, and they are stupid fun. My turbo sled runs to good to get rid of now, so I am going to tune it back for pump gas and my wife will ride it.

Here are my questions to start:

cool sled ... I do old guy sledding ... got a pair of '80 Arctic Cat Jags that were going to be a resto project ... one of these days.

Had to do a double take on the T-340 ... we had a T-4 in the pile of "old stuff too good to junk"

Nice. The T-340 is a cool project! I am on the hunt for a PTO and back hoe for it... I also wouldn't mind a 6 way blade. The loader that's on it is really nice, but probably I'm guessing it's not going to be very good for building a road on a grade...

If you come across any parts let me know!
