Nothing in it really, at least on mine, just a couple of baffles from what i could tell. I sprayed a bunch of brake kleen in it and rinsed it out and put it back together.

Replacing it is up to you, with new contact it will likely go for quite awhile and start easier again. It's a pretty straight forward job to do.

I would suspect the starter contacts are worn out and need to be replaced, pretty cheap and easy fix, Geno's Garage and LarryB's sell the kits.
