H1C upgrades
Need some input on what more I can do to my H1C to get more air out of it and not drive my EGT up doing it.
1st off, I don't have much money to put into this. I know that limits me a lot, but that's life in the poor lane.
Considering other turbos is mostly out of the question because of other associated costs to do the conversion.
Also considering the Alaska factor, if IF you can find it you bill be paying a lot more for it.
My current thoughts a bigger compressor wheel and maybe a bigger turbine wheel. :confused:

That big, non-wastegated exhaust housing is slowing your engine acceleration imo.
I don't know where you'd find a tight wastegated housing though.
I believe a stock HX35 would make more boost air for you.

I just built one yesterday, that turbo is quite limited, you can of course put on a 16cm turbine housing, then you can go with a 58mm compressor wheel or a 60mm compressor wheel. This of course requires the compressor cover to be profiled. No known larger turbine wheel that I know of. I had a 60mm c/wheel on mine once, I lost boost, didn't have enough fuel I think. I put in a 58mmc/wheel, and I can get 32-33poundx of boost when I peg it, and hardly any black smoke. We can supply the customer with either a cast c/wheel or a billet c/wheel.

I have a few years ago seen a Holset H1C 12cm exhaust housing on the shelf, it would spool up very quickly, but im sure your egt's would be off the chart.

There is nothing I can do to an HX35 that I cant do to an H1C, so why spend the money on it. Mine already has a 60mm compressor upgrade and a 16cm exhaust housing. This combination worked great when I still had the stock injectors with it. A 62mm compressor is available along with an assortment of gated and non-gated turbine housings and a larger turbine wheel. My experience with smaller exhaust housings has always been higher exhaust temperatures without really improving boost, just spool time which is currently not bad.

Hood stack:cool::D:cool:...if I remember correctly my 1st gen exhaust was pinched tight at the transmission and the bend at the rear axle.
