Tire Question

I have a 98 ram 2500 12 valve and need to know if a set of goodyear all terrain
L 1 245/75 R16 will be a ok set of tires for this truck not sure what the L stands for and if they would be a strong enough set of tires for this truck someone told me i needed a 8-10 ply tire I dont know how to tell what ply these tires are

MAXTORQ 09-01-2013 12:10 AM

Sure it doesn't say LT or light truck?

An 8 ply will probably be a D rated tire while the 10 ply will E rated. If you tow a lot then the E rated tire is what you want.

Is this an auto trans or standard?

By the way welcome.

Probably says LT on the tire, but was just hard for him to read.

Worst come to worst go look at them take a picture and load it to the site. If your tech savvy a smartphone does wonders.

These tires new or used?

grunt1977 09-01-2013 08:57 AM

used

have abot 75 to 80 percent tread left 200 for a set of 4. 1 new retails for around 170 each

If they are LT tires then they should be a decent deal, but personally I prefer running 265 rather than 245 tires on 16" rims.

grunt1977 09-01-2013 10:16 AM

width or height

Is the 245 the width of the tire or the height

MAXTORQ 09-01-2013 11:46 AM

Width of tire.
