Well I finally got around to getting the fresh paint on my truck. Two of my friends came over on Friday and we sanded her down and smoothed everything out and then on Saturday we shot the primer and paint. We used Eastwood's Rat Rod Black paint and Urethane Primer....I really like how it turned out. I took these pics Saturday night after I got the bumpers and stuff all put back on. It looks a bit different now and has evened out more since it has cured. What do you think:

Looks good duster....Just off topic, being your truck is a regular cab,how noisy is it in the cab with the stacks??Do you have a muffler on your rig?

No muffler....it's loud with the windows down but not bad at all with them up....but I like my vehicles to make some noise too.

Not bad but it's a personal taste too....nice thing is it is easy to add a muffler if you want to quiet it down or get rid of drone.

That looks nice duster. When it comes time for my truck to get some paint (which was yesterday) I may go that route.
The old paint was black too, right?

I like it. Can you wax that paint? Is there a clear coat or anything that protects the paint itself?

No clear coat...it is a UV stable Urethane single stage paint. I can wax and buff it like any other paint job and after a week or so here for a total cure time I am gonna buff it out and then wax it for the winter.

No heat....it is blotchy in those pics and that's because it wasn't fully cured either. I took those pics that evening and it was painted in the morning. It takes a full two days for it to cure out and it evens out A LOT more. I was suprised it at how much more it did. I also talked to Eastwood and they said it will have the suede or blotchy look to it because the paint will reflect light differently based on how far the gun was held from the panel and what direction it was painted. Most of that would go away as well though when it is wet sanded and buffed which I will do after we fix a couple of dust spots and reshoot.
