US NAVY SILENT DRILL TEAM

About three years ago, our US Navy Ceremonial Guard Silent Drill Team was invited to compete in an International Tattoo in Norway .

The Navy competed against military units from all over NATO and won first place .

Once you see the video you'll understand why they won.

I don't really know how to put this, but I was selected to become a member of the fellowship of Navy Chief Petty Officers a couple of weeks back, what an incredible and humbling experience so far, with much to come i am sure. I don't have much time, incredibly busy with a short 4 weeks this year and deploying next week, haven't been around much, and won't be until next summer, but to any CPO's out there, any wisdom to pass on via PM would be great. What an amazing experience is all i have to say, and it is only getting started.

I am looking at buying a 20-24 foot enclosed car trailer and see RPM Toyhauler brand trailers advertised by a few local dealers. They look like a nice trailer, but im not sure if they are quality built. Since this trailer will be used 50/50 for storage and transport, I really dont need the price tag of a haulmark or featherlite.
Does anyone have experiences with these trailers? Or any other brand you would recommend?
Most used trailers I have seen are beat and not much cheaper than new.

Subject: Fw: Meet Sharon......a sad but true story.......

It says it at the bottom but I will say it again here---Make sure to pay your taxes.
You can verify this story by clicking on the newspaper title below………

---------------------------------------------------------------

New Orleans Times-Picayune

She has lived in Section 8 housing all but 1 of her 58 years.

(There was a picture here but it didn't transfer, but there is one in the article on the link)

Sharon Jasper sits in the living room of her
voucher-backed private residence. "I might be poor,
but I don't like to live poor. I thank God for a place to
live, but it's pitiful what people give you."

Sharon Jasper has spent 57 of her 58 years dedicated to one cause and one cause only, and has nothing to show for her dedicated servitude ...
She has lived in Section 8 housing all but 1 of her 58 years. It was a legacy passed down from her parents who moved into Section 8 housing in 1949 when she was six months old. She has passed the legacy down to her children, but fears they may have to get jobs to pay for the utilities and deposits.
She laments about her one year hiatus from the comfort of her Section 8 nirvana, 'I tried it for a year -- you know, working and all. It's not anything I would want to go through again, or wish on anyone in my family, but I am damn proud of that year.'
Sharon was moved out of her St. Bernard housing project after hurricane Katrina and into a new, yet albeit, substandard quarterage. As can be noted from the above photo of her new Section 8 home, it is repugnant and not suitable for someone of Sharon Jasper's seniority status in the system. 'Don't be fooled by them hardwood floors,' says Sharon ..
'They told me they were putting in scraped wood floors cause it was more expensive and elegant, but I am not a fool -- that was just a way to make me take scratched up wood because I am black. The 60 inch HD TV? It may look nice but it is not plasma ... It's not a plasma because I'm black. Now they want me to pay a deposit and utilities on this dump. 'Do you know why?'
She has held her tongue in silence through the years of abuse by the system, but it came to a head at the New Orlean's city council meeting where discussions were under way about the tearing down of the St. Bernard projects. When a near riotous exchange between groups opposing the tearing down of St. Bernard and groups wanting the dilapidated buildings torn down and newer ones built, Sharon unleashed verbal hell with her once silenced tongue. The object of her oratory prowess was an acquiescent poor white boy in attendance. The context of her scathing rebuke was, 'Just because you pay for my house, my car, my big screen and my food, Medical needs. I will not be treated like a slave!' and 'Back up and Shut up! white boy Shut up, white boy!
Recapping from the log of the city council minutes; Sharon repines, 'Our families have been displaced all over the United States. They are being forced to commit crimes in cities they are unfamiliar with. It is a very uncomfortable situation for them. Bring them back, then let's talk about redevelopment.'
Sharon directs the reporter's attention across the street to Duncan Plaza where homeless people are living in tents and states that, 'I might do better out there with one of these tents.' She further lamented her sentiments about her situation, 'I might be poor, but I don't have to live poor.'

Any wonder why this country is in the shape it is? Maybe we should all just chip in and get her the plasma TV she so richly deserves!
New Orleans Times-Picayune

Remember to pay your taxes - Sharon needs your help -
Spread the Wealth!!!

OK, so I live in a college town. Isn't there some law somewhere which would leave one to believe the teenie boppers were granted brains when they grad-e-ated high school?? Here is what I have had to endure for almost a week now.

Pedestrians standing six foot off the curb and in my lane of traffic at the crosswalks which have red lights and don't walk signals. Just gotta be the first one across the street...

Bicycles drivings the wrong way on a one way street coming right at me between my door post and the parked cars.....

Young mothers with baby carraiges at the street corners, with the baby out in the street and mom on the curb, WTF???? Gotta be child neglect ya think?

Some idiot in a car stopping traffic to let some granola on a bike at an intersection
cross the street (bet they wouldn't stop for me in the truck, whats the diff??)

Frat boy types with coffee in hand walking against the dont walk signal just as I get started to make a LEGAL right turn on red.

Some sorority type stopped out in traffic while waiting for a parking slot to open in a lot, and then waives traffic around her.

Two lanes of traffic same direction, get passed on the left just to have them make a right turn across both lanes into McD's.

And the first weeks winner?

Spend 10 minutes at the check out lane unloading groceries then find out they have no money so they call home asking a parent to wire the money to Lane 5 at Winco (yeah, really happened).

Oh please, anyone else from a college town????

Sorry I haven't been on in a while. We have been out patrolling the shores as good little Coast Guard men and woman do. Not back for good, just visiting the southern most point of the good ole USA. I missed you guys and wanted to stop by and say hi. Hoping to save up for some mods while I'm gone.

Things have sure changed since the last time I was deployed. We have TV now and very limited bandwidth internet connection. I'm to impatient to let sites load over a connection that makes 56k seem fast, so I don't use the internet much, but it is nice to get emails from home.

Anyway, just wanted to stop in and say hi. I am still alive and well and Cody BRD is just over 7 months. He is rolling over on his own now, all over the house, rolling rolling rolling. He has 4 teeth, and knows how to use them. Still not sleeping through the night though. We have tried lots of ideas but no progress yet.
